Declaration of Independence - Our Rights

I believe that the United States was formed under the inspiration of God, and I thought I could share some insights about this topic. Hopefully discussing some of these insights might stir some discussion with others about God in our society. I think the best thing for us as a society is to remember Him and remember what He and His Son has done for us.

Our country was founded by the inspired Founding Fathers, who where religious and God-fearing men. The Declaration of Independence affirms their belief: "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."

The Founding Fathers believed in God and that these rights are divinely ordained from Him. Ezra T. Bensen, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has said, "Life, liberty, and property - mankind's three great rights."[Ezra T. Bensen - Our Divine Constitution] God has given us these rights. Each individual has the divine right to the protection of life, the free exercise of conscience, and the right and control of property. No one can take these away from us, and for God we have to thank.
